Tony Update - Hi Renee, I thought I should give you an update on Tony. He has made himself at home here and has become very sociable with people. He loves children. I make sure they are gentle with him. When we go for walks he wants to greet everyone.
He had a bad start with the cats because he thought it was fun to chase them. They straightened him out quickly and have accepted him. He and Snoopy share a dog bed and of course my bed. He is a very loving little guy.
I decided that he needed a new name so he
is now called Pippin. I tried to send a picture from my camera. I think it went. ~Margaret June 7, 2014 Kiaya Update - Hi, We just wanted to send in some pictures of Kiaya.
She has settled in fantastically and is such a pleasure to have!
[ ... ] Thanks for everything! Sam June 6, 2014 Thank You Lily - Hi Renee... Here [... is ] Lily and a bit about her project... Lily ... is in grade two [... in] her class they work on a "Nobody Project" and must come up with an idea to do something to help someone else or in the community.
Lily, a lover of animals, thought about helping
animals without a home - the shelter! Her mom and her baked animal cookies and sold them raising the
$80.00 ... Lily's grandma...Sharon :) June 5, 2014 Juniper Update - Thought I would send you a picture of Juniper.
She is settling in very well and keeping me very busy.
Thanks again. Lorie Lee June 4, 2014 Ruby Update - We adopted Ruby the Shepherd Husky mix on Saturday and I just wanted to update you on her progress. We changed her name to Akiera, the kids are crazy over her and she is fitting in to the family quite well. We haven't had any issues far, so I'm happy to say Akiera has found her forever home.
Barbara F. June 3, 2014 Stella Update - Stella has settled in quite nicely. She has developed a schedule, is so quiet and laid back and is just the perfect little lady.

Thanks Sue L. June 2, 2014 Daisy Adopted - Just a couple of pics so far of Daisy settling in to our home. She seems so content with our walks as well as her freedom in the house and yard.
Thank you for all you did for her as my boys and I really appreciate it...We love the new family member and people when I take her out for a walk can’t stop commenting about how beautiful she is.

Thank you to those that attended in support of the shelter.
Many thanks to the team for the great opportunity and my team of helpers that made it all possible. April 24, 2014 Tres is Adopted - We take the broken, tossed and left for dead; mend them and fight with them.
The day they find their home is the day we celebrate and remember the reason we do what we do.
Best of luck Tres in your new home. I love my job. April 22, 2014 Weekend Fundraiser - An eggcellent time was had by all who attended the seventh annual Mix Easter hunt ... the biggest yet with over 1700 in attendance.
The weather was wonderful and the new location of story book park proved to be spectacular. Great monies were raised for the spay neuter and surgical fund. Thank you to those that provided baked goods for the bake sale, those that provided raffle items, story book park for the bbq items and the location, the mix for the invite and my wonderful team who made this event possible.
We do what we do only with the help from all of you.
Thank you for helping us make a difference. Hope to see all of you this sat at the roller derby. April 15, 2014 Oreo Update - We brought Oreo home last Saturday and he settled in almost instantly! We couldn't dream of a better cat! He is so laid back and loving. He's not afraid of anything. My 4yr old daughter plays around and with him and he just goes along with it. He loves to lay in her lap and sleeps with me. He's never growled or hissed and doesn't even put his claws out much.
He may have been taken away from his mom early or something, because he loves to suck on our ear lobes in the morning before we get out of bed! We love him dearly and know he's happy with us!
Thanks a million! ~Michelle and Charlotte P. April 7, 2014 Tres Update - Today was a big day for my pal Tres. Although it was life changing for 11 others now altered; it was he I worried about all day. After watching him heal, gain weight and then loose his ears, and then heal he has been a concern for weeks now. Luckily this fighter has never failed and has continued to thrive.
I am pleased to say that my boy Tres has no
ears now, a stub tail, no boy parts, and a stub leg and is so far awesome.
As he recovers on my couch tonight (no he's not staying) I know I will rest well knowing his day has ended with him all
OK. April 1, 2014 April Update - Hi Renee, I thought you might like to see "April" who I have re-named Bjossa (sounds like bee-oh-sa) as she looks Icelandic with all that white fur.
She loves her feather toy and my previous cat's white cat bed. ~Hillary Mar 25, 2014 Hershey Update - We received a very nice update on Hershey: Hershey appears to be adjusting well to his new home and I am very happy to say that I made the right choice by adopting this affectionate cat.

Mar 19, 2014 Markdale and Bluewater Fundraiser - The biggest thanks to Juliana, Julie and their nine furry little friends; Cinnamon, Dusty, Maggie, BlueBell, Lavender, Fern, Snowflake, Oscar and Thumper who took the opportunity to help us make a difference. These girls baked cupcakes to raise monies for the shelter as they sold them for 1.00 each. These wonderful ladies also completed a pet walk for the cause.
With great excitement I am pleased to say that they were successful in raising 189.00 for the spay neuter and medical fund, helping us save lives.
Once again thank you to our supporters for helping us do what we do. Mar 17, 2014 Attack Fundraiser - Thank you Attack fans for your purchase of tickets from the Owen Sound Animal Shelter. Thanks to you we have raised enough money to pay for a full surgery day and this means at least ten animals are now going to be given a new leash on life thanks to your support. A great time was had by all that attended and it certainly was an entertaining game. (Always a bonus when the team wins).
As always we can do what we do only with support from the public and with donations, and once again we thank you.
Glad to have all of you on our team. Come out for all the action at the Grey Bruce Roller Derby ... Shelter Skelter.
This fundraiser will be held at the Shallow lake Arena on Saturday April 26th, 2014 at 7pm. Tickets are $8.00 in advance or $10.00 at the door. All proceeds go to the Owen Sound Animal Shelter. Kids under 12 are FREE! This is a licenced all age event! Bring a chair and see you there. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Mar 14, 2014 Tres Update - Well our boy tres is changing! ! He has just completed his first breed change, tres is now a Scottish fold! Both ears are now gone.
We tell him his new shape makes his eyed stand out.
His belly also changing as our pal is getting fat. We are pleased to see the progress, and continue to fight with him to make him well enough to go home. Mar 10, 2014 Cold and Alone - Who needs another reason to keep your cats inside? Let me introduce you to my friend Tres. Tres found frozen to the ground, defrosted with water to be gathered I might add. Tres missing a hind limb soon will be missing both ears and potentially a tail as frost bite will have killed them.
Keep him in your thoughts and prayers and pass his story onto
others ... spread the word. This is why OSAS supports indoor cats only. Mar 3, 2014 Onyx and Midnight - Hi everyone, Here are some pictures of Onyx and Midnight (formerly known as Meisha).
They're full of energy (especially at 6 am when they walk all over my face!) and very affectionate! I couldn't be happier. Thanks again for all your help.
