Reflecting
As New Years' is just around the corner I am reflecting on the great year that has past. 

I have reflected on how thankful I am for all we have accomplished and how you have helped. That is so great!

I felt really bad about Ticky's return and I was a bit bummed, but it is good to be humbled every now and again. A reminder that things are not so easy!

I'm excited for the year ahead, and all that it holds.  I thought I would as you a favour. Tell me your favorite part of 2006, so together we can do those kinds of things more often, and what direction you would like to see the Shelter go in 2007 - what improvements you feel the Shelter should make or just let me know if you think we are on the right track. Ticky
Many fabulous adoptions the last few days, and again I am torn with how to narrow it down, but another one needs to be mentioned, and with tears I think about "Ticky" finally going home. 

Remember the blog with the cat in the tub? That was "Ticky" appropriately named for the millions of ticks, and lice, and fleas that we pulled off this cat. 

Ticky took the cake by far as the most parasite infected cat (still living) I have ever seen. As you already know, we give them 'different' names when we don't think they will make it, as self preservation, but it always turns out to be lucky :) Remember: Starvin Marvin, Noggin Dog, Macey... 

Ticky was anemic, starving, paper thin, urinating blood from liver troubles, elderly and in serious rough shape. It was a battle from the beginning, and the battle continued for months. If a cat really has nine lives, this cat used them all. From her initial entry, it was discovered Ticky had a serious urinary tract problem, this likely from dehydration (not using the parts) as well as many secondary infections like a yeast infection, difficulty eating and drinking or keeping anything down. An eight year old cat who had been tossed and clearly couldn't handle it "on her own". I was not ready to give up on her, and as long as she would fight I was committed to too. She developed litter box troubles - basically peed and laid in it ... a real concern (the reason she was tossed?) now what? So, we placed two boxes in her cage, not so nice, but it worked. She had no choice but to use it, while we treated her infection. She then developed an upper respiratory virus, this with a weakened immune system and in a place with unvaccinated cats meant we had to battle this too. We were also unsure of her being spayed - no way of knowing for sure and she was black - which meant 50/50 chance she could be. I hoped that she was as our unspayed cats came into heat and Ticky didn't. 

She has become a beloved friend, who has spent the last few weeks sitting with us, no longer caged, yes another test which means she has finally completed her journey with us. She went to a family, who tried to understand, but just as I finished up this blog a phone call came in and Ticky's family couldn't keep her anymore and were bringing her back.

I guess Ticky wasn't strong enough to come into heat and that is where the 50/50 chance we had hoped for didn't help her. We will spay her when she comes back and hope for a new forever family to see what a great cat she is and how hard she has tried to make it this far.

Ozzy
I was touched again with the adoption of my pal Ozzy today. Many great adoptions, but Ozzy's took first place.

Ozzy came to the Shelter a few weeks ago, a very nervous and scared boy, ( another victim of circumstance) and well, pretty much stayed that way until he left. 

All the dogs deal with being homeless very differently, Nanook the Husky, for example, spent his first few days trying to climb the wall, and howling ... 

Jazz totally is loving the attention she is getting and is resistant to it all.

While some throw up, others don't eat, and some like my new pal Sierra shiver and shake in the corner until they sort things out in their heads.

Ozzy was a typical "I am so scared, but I am so tough, but I am so scared" kinda fella.

Normally, we see his response to the Shelter in Pomeranians or Chihuahua's. But, this BIG lug curled his lips, growled at all that passed, with his tail firmly planted between his legs, and his head lowered to anyone who wanted to meet him. 

I won't lie to you and say I wasn't a little hesitant the first time putting him out and in, and really mostly Todd did it, but after a few walks together, I discovered quickly that he was bravado and doing his best to deal with this new situation. PHEW, that though. The problem then becomes how do you adopt out a dog who growls and "smiles" at people who approach him, especially when this pooch is a "Rotti type". 

Thank Goodness for the kind man who met him, accepted his growls, and agreed to try again, and again, and again! This man trusted our word that Ozzy would be better, once he trusted and out of the cage ... he did. 

The man came back with his wife, his other dog, with a harness and today he made Ozzy the happiest dog around! Me too! Thank you for trusting in what we do and giving that "growler" a chance.

Boxing Week Blues
How depressing that boxing week is all about returns of many kinds. 

The phone started ringing at 12:00 and by 4 pm I had an expected 5 dogs in as well as 2 cats - all owner surrenders.

One cat and one dog were prior friends returned for what ever reason. Apparently, their people wanted to wait until the Christmas spirit had passed ... but one day only? Two cats and two dogs came in by the end of the day, I suppose the rest will join me tomorrow. 

I was anticipating a January rush and I'm not totally surprised, but I wasn't expecting it to come so close after Christmas. I am hoping this is not the start of some stressful times for a number of my friends. 

I hope everyone who purchased gift certificates will be checking the site and stopping in soon, as the selection I told them was about to change, now has. 

My Christmas Wish
My Christmas wish, which I asked Santa for was a wish to see all of the animals here at the Shelter spay/neutered. I think this is something I need your help with.

I have been reflecting on the year that has passed, and excited about the year ahead. Some fabulous renovations, with the addition of the dog run (play area), air improvements, and some tremendous adoptions. There is even more ahead, and I am thrilled to say it will help to make this place a great stop-over for the animals on their way to their forever homes.

I also asked Santa to take away my cat waiting list, and I am hopeful that this is something that can be achieved. But, wouldn't it be awesome to have ALL pets altered before they leave? Wouldn't it be great to have the resources to pull this off? For the first time, we are offering a membership for OSAS. You may have noticed that there is a member sign-in now on the site and a membership for the 2007 year is only $50.00 which includes:

• The picture of the animal that is in need of spay/neuter or veterinarian attention.

• Information and an update on the animal, as well as a notice if pet is adopted (another pet will be selected).

• A monthly Newsletter about the Shelter and ongoing events and advance notice of fundraisers, as well as tips, information and the cute editorial 'Ask Renee'. Ask Renee is a monthly insight into the hearts and minds of humans and animals alike in a funny and informative editorial.

• Renee's Blog - daily doses of an on-the-job battle to help animals in distress.

• The Owen Sound Animal Shelter 2007 Calendar. 

• In addition, OSAS will hold a monthly draw for prizes - these prizes range from gift certificates at PetValu, as well as a sponsored draw each month. One submission per membership, per month will be placed in the draw. If a membership is purchased mid-way through the year, the membership will run for 12 months. (Chances of winning depend upon the number of memberships).

Here is my wish ... that every animal that comes to our 'no-kill' facility will have the advantage of being spayed/neutered - no matter what. With your membership, we will be able to ensure that every animal has that opportunity. In a sense, as these animals are spayed/neutered, they are better pets and will get great homes. We will still have our fundraising events, but it is never enough to cover every animals - so, as the new year rolls in, please think about getting yourself a membership with us.

Your money will help these pets to find good homes and you will receive a picture and information on a pet, our 2007 calendar, access to my daily blogs and each month we will hold a draw for a gift certificate with a retail value of $20.00. Win ... win! 

Santa was here!! 
Boy we had some serious fun. All of the dogs had special cakes for Christmas, these consisted of canned food, beggin strips, marrow bone, and milk bone. The cats had their own variety of cake made mostly of canned food, tender vittles, pounce treats, and whiskas temptations. Play time was extended and everyone was given a chance to romp with their new toys. Although the play area was totally muddy, the dogs had a chance to get dirty anyways. 

With new comfy comforters to nap in afterwards for all, and some chew bones for the dogs and catnip socks for the cats, I do think that it was sweet dreams for everyone. 

There will be some extra clean up I am sure boxing day, this of course comes with all that fun. Pleased we will be closed to the public this day.

A nice surprise ... for us Christmas morning, two baby bunnies, born on Christmas eve. I think I will call them Star and HOHO? Pleased to meet them ... and you knew it was going to go this way ... just knew it ...

Snowman
I knew the warm weather would bring strays and in the last two days it brought two dogs and a cat. I was terribly afraid that these were Christmas drops, but fortunately, both dogs were returned home ... now, if only the cat could get home. He is a little wild and injured, so I suspect no one is looking. Oddly, he is white and fluffy, kind of like snow? So, I have called him snowman. It is good to have a snowman at Christmas, and we don't have any snow. If you are looking for your cat, he is male, about three, and solid white - sound familar? 

We did get one Christmas surrender, how sad is that, a Dachshund/Shih Tzu mix, named Pal and I am expecting three on Saturday (a dog and two cats). That puts a bit of a damper on the Christmas spirit. However, I am looking on the bright side, Pal (sorry didn't get on the site) was adopted by a wonderful lady who has been chatting with me and on my list for such a long time. I knew this would be a great match. Pal will be spoiled this Christmas by someone who really loves him and that is my positive thought! As for the three expected in, maybe they won't come! If they do, perhaps they are better off here!

On another great note, Shadow was homed back to his family today, just in time to celebrate. Having lost his family due to the house fire in Kinloss.

He and his Auntie Irene will be together, a familiar place with his family he thought he had lost, and friends he will remember. How great is that?

Counting my Blessings
So a little sad today, an adoption that didn't come through for Trip, and a dog release so close to Christmas... but I am not focusing on all of that. Instead, I am going to be happy and be a person filled with Christmas spirit, and rejoice for the many adoptions that the Shelter has had. 

Thank you to all the wonderful people who have been in with Christmas wishes and great updates which really helped to get me in the mood.

I thought I would like to update you on:

Marvin - he has been to the vet, and other than a few teeth pulled, he is in excellent health. 

His housetraining has been completed, and he has become a family member, privileged enough to share the family bed, couch, chair, and car - need I say more?

Mr Wiggles - now Angus, has blended so well he now runs the house. He enjoys climbing the counters (not bad for special needs) and swims in the tub. 

Mr. Wiggles loves as much attention as he can get from his people and his cat (his cat?).

Zoey and Baby Cakes (recently adopted) have already become part of the household, and slept together last night with their new mom. All tired out from their playtime.

Pyro continues to be well and lives the life of luxury. 

Not sure what Santa will bring a dog that has more stuff than me.

Levi is doing well with his new family.

Speaking of more stuff than me, did you check out that wardrobe?

Kody has all his hair growing back, is parasite free, and is celebrating every day.

Noah still handsome as ever, loves to watch the birds.

He will be doing more of this with his new bird feeder that he will be getting for Christmas (shhh!).

Remember the kitten named Turkey? now spayed, declawed, and the best friend to the kids. 

Plays all day and sleeps all night (or was it the other way round?).

Mika, a Husky who had no name, from a few months ago who loves the outdoors and wishes it would snow. Mika would also really love a bunny for Christmas... let's pass on that though! lol

A Great Day
What a great way to start a great day. when you start it with another pennies for pets presentation at the North Port Elementary school. Ms. Gingras' class had spent the last few weeks gathering Christmas offerings, Canadian Tire money, and of course those pennies to help make Christmas a better place here for my friends.

It was a nice surprise to see so many students happy to take part in the presentation, an excellent group of kids from grades one though five.

A nicer surprise was to get a chance to talk with a women who had adopted a kitten and gave me a fabulous update. Another familiar face in the hallway with a women who adopted "Smokey" and another from a dog adoption. Clearly this is a school who supports our Shelter!

I always like to have a few of my friends on-hand to show the kids, and I know that is their favorite part. I choose to bring Thumper the rabbit Jet the cat.

An added surprise, I left with just Thumper the rabbit. I must have known their was a special teacher looking for a fixed black cat, good with other cats :)

Calm before the Storm
I am still in disbelief that Christmas is right around the corner. Although all preparations are done, the only way to know it's Christmas is the Shelter adoptions have pretty much ground to a halt. 

We had a kitten adoption today, but this poor kitten had to finish it's quarantine before it could home, otherwise it would have gone home over a week ago when the lady first fell in love with "Collin". Sorry, he won't be on the web site. 

Lots of people are coming in with Christmas wishes and treats, a reminder of the holiday season. It must be the beautiful spring weather that has me all confused. I was so glad the weather was good for our trip to Durham. However it does scare me. Between you and me, I hope this is not the start of what happened last year. Remember last year around January we had a warm spell. Outdoor cats came into heat and by March we were full up with kittens. That was an early start to kitten season which runs May/June. Then, we had our usual May/June spill of cats, and we had already used up our resources. By the time we caught up, it was time to do it all over again in Sep/Oct. I must admit, we are still reeling from the last wave ... three kitten bunches is far too many. I'm happy that we didn't have the same trouble with dogs.

Please, if you have a cat or dog that is not altered, make sure you keep an eye on them, especially during in this "spring like weather". AND, if this is the case, why is your pet not fixed?

It's time we had that chat...
If you are checking the site for a kitten or puppy because you think it would be a neat gift for your child for Christmas ... stop ... please think really carefully about this idea.

Christmas is a very busy time for all of us and not always the best time to adopt a pet. When you take your pet home, especially a puppy or a kitten, please know there is an adjustment period. A time to bond, train and socialize - Christmas is perhaps not the best time for this. Your new friend will need veterinary care, at the very least a check-up and during this busy time, your veterinarian may not be able to fit you in spur of the moment. Please read our care for life package and know that any decision to adopt needs to be completely considered by everyone in your family. Your pet will need you for the next 10-20 years and commit to that. 

The calls are now coming in and I continue to say: no I cannot hold your pet until Christmas day, no I will not be opening to suit your Christmas schedule. And, no I will not be around boxing day so you can return it if it does not get along with your children and/or another pet. It is never a good idea to get a pet for someone else for Christmas without informing them. Again, I will not open boxing day for you to return the pet when there are allergies, the pet doesn't get along and/or pees on your floor or eats the tree... Please note that your options to adopt a pet will increase in January and there will be more to choose from, and a perhaps a better suited pet is just around the corner (not just any pet because it's available). If you are adopting a pet for Christmas, please know that your money will not be refunded when your pet is returned. 

Let's make it a great Christmas for everyone and not re-home an unwanted Christmas gift or shuffle the pets more than necessary. 

There are a few adoptions in the works that I have been working on, and these will be permitted to happen with regular policies in place. If you have not spoken to me directly within the last couple of weeks, please consider adopting in January - when there is less stress. 

Pets are for life, not just for Christmas. They deserve the gift of forever.

The story of Pubsey
They met in the bar, they had a few conversations, a short time later she looks at her situation and finds her home a cardboard box, no food, and five hungry children.

This was the tale being told off air today. A true story of how Pubsey came to me. Homeless, feeding five 3-day old babes, no food, and only a cardboard box in a local establishment to keep them warm. Thanks to a responsible person who found her and called us to retrieve her and her babes and change her life. 

Pubsey has been a friend of mine since July. It takes time to grow kittens, wean kittens (which she did in a temporary home thank goodness) (thanks to kitty's mom), learn to be a house cat, come back, get spayed and find a forever home. Phew, that took a while. There was a bit of a delay, for Pubsey because the last spay/neuter trip Pubsey was in heat, so, we passed her spot to Olga. I was a bit worried about stressing Pubsey by taking her on air, as the last trip she took was to the vet which could have made her a bit sensitive. Boy, was I wrong, Miss Pubsey loved the place, rolled around and entertained. Way to go girl. Makes me feel a whole lot better than having to stress her out to get her to a better life. 

If you caught the Mix today, you heard that JD wanted to change Pubsey's name to Chrystal ... nice idea, but Pubsey will always be Pubsey to me...

The best part was that because of her on-air time ... it worked. Saturday, "Rose" will be coming to take Pubsey home. She heard the show, felt bad for the journey she had to take ... and is willing to give her a better life and a forever home. I'm thrilled to say goodbye!

Tis the Season
I really like the way this place feels at Christmas. OK, I'm over the grumpy bunny thing.

Way back when, a lifetime ago, before I was working here and came to visit, I was one of those people who left with my arms full and in tears. I would never visit the Shelter at this time of year ... the thought of Christmas for these pets behind bars tore me up. I admit, that really was not a fair thought, and now I would rather the place be empty, but beyond that, it is a pretty OK place to be - there are far worst places - we won't go there!

I would like to thank everyone who has visited in the last few days bearing gifts of pet food, and toys and treats. All the pets here are feeling pretty special. Even the bunnies have treats!! I laughed out loud tonight in the dog room, (luckily only the dogs heard) as I noticed that my few dogs, have so many toys and the hallway is now littered with stuffed animals parts (it's OK to keep them coming, they destroy them for hours of fun). Flopsy's cage has stuffing everywhere - when I last checked, all except for the toy rabbit oddly had been shredded. A walker hound that saves bunnies? Perhaps that was how she came to be here?? 

The cats are all squawking and rolling around, enjoying the cat nip socks and jingle bells. Looking forward to the big day, when Santa comes with more treats. If they can't be home for the holidays, at least they won't be without a lot of love.

Grumpy Blog
So last night a gentleman (OK let's say a guy) comes to the Shelter with two stray bunnies that are domestic and said "I found them outside my house, and one of them is injured". Sound odd to you? I have personally tried to catch a rabbit outside and know that it is next to impossible ... never mind two!

However, if that rabbit was injured "by a wild animal" as he suggests, my job is to help that poor bunny and worry about the details later. The guy filled out the forms and I take the bunnies. Here's the thing... and now I'm crabby... none of the information on the forms were legit, not likely his name, his address or his phone number. Besides the point, I have surveillance... ha! But, now here's the kicker (the circumstances don't add up) the guy lied to me because he didn't want to pay any fee and didn't want to admit to having to give up his little pals. He could have leveled with me. And as I found out later, one bunny was a boy (not my specialty) and the other bunny clearly not a boy. I am checking with my bunny people, but as I recall the injuries on that bunny's neck are the result of what bunnies do best (reproduce). So, not only do I have two bunnies to feed and look after until they are adopted, but have a female (for two months) while the babes are born, weaned, and then hopefully find them all homes. 

This apparently is now my problem. PLUS, I have to deal with the treatment of this nasty wound. In the event that I am jumping to conclusions here, and this guy really did find the bunnies, then my apologies to him, if, for some reason he reads this blog (it wouldn't be the first time someone tried to dump their pals at the Shelter). 

Then if it wasn't the guy who brought them in, I have to direct my frustration at the looser who put these domestic bunnies outside! Who does that?? Did you see the snow out there?? What do these bunnies eat?? On the off chance that someone has lost these bunnies (then I'm still crabby) HOW come you haven't called me... Did you see the snow out there?? What do these bunnies eat??

I will be posting them as found/strays; just in case. Here's hoping that they ran away last night?? AND some great pet owner is calling me right now, missing them terribly!!

House Fire in Kincardine
There has only been, to date, three times my heart broke when there was a release of an animal. OK, my heart breaks every time, but only three where it breaks for the owner. 

In 1999, a women's husband was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and the same week she decided to pack it all up and go to the States in search of a cure. I cried right along with her as we unloaded the eight senior cats, and three senior dogs. I promised her to find them all the best of homes, and yes, many went together. I kept in contact with her and kept her up-to-date on their adoption and updates. 

Then in 2003, a man lost his wife and found himself working 12 hours to pay the bills and caring for his children. Again, I teared with him and wished that there was a better solution. I did my best to find the dog a home, and updated him with the happy ending. 

Now, this Friday, I teared again and found myself searching for another solution. Normally, my sadness is for the pet not being loved as it should be, but this time, the release was out of love and the owners would have prevented it if they could have. Three dogs were handed over to me, Ranger, Shadow, and Madison. Three dogs, which were loved and cared for by a family who had lost everything they owned in a house fire. They sobbed while they said their goodbyes and Sandi and I did our best to hide the tears. I have not placed the third dog up for adoption (as you may have noticed) and only two were posted. I tried to help the family have one returned when things straightened around. Maddy the most shy, the most nervous and the one who needed them the most, was on reserve for their return. 

Ranger found himself a family in a country home on Saturday, and I have been in contact with the family for that update, and it was all good news. Today, I gave Maddy to a friend to be reunited with her family in time (soon I hear). The family was very thankful for the help we provided them and the security of knowing we would do our best to find the dogs good homes. 

I was touched to know that the family who had lost so much was comforted with the little help we could provide. I only wish I could have done more. 

Bling Fling Success
What a great day. The Bling Fling was a great success, and turned out to be quite fun as well.

We had over 5o Bling sold (54 I think). PetValu decided to offer us even more of a profit and at $3.00 a tag now, we successfully added over $150 dollars to the spay/neuter and medical fund. Even better was the adoption of five cats. Yippee! and although two came in, we were able to avoid the stress of getting crowded. 

Lucky Lumpy, Izzy, and Lola, who were not on the site... Hooray finally for Lizzy (Lizzy who spent three months with us) and Bubba gums. 

The biggest thank you to PetValu for the great Bling idea, and to the Mix 106 who helped make it all possible. The Mix again going out of it's way for the Shelter to help us save lives.

I have a story to tell you ... it is very sad and I know you will want to hear it. I'll put it in a blog soon ... I promise.

Weasel in my Coat
How odd to start the day with a weasel in your coat!

OK, a ferret... I was glad to have met Zeus, pleased to give him another chance and I have grown quite fond of him. For a weasel he is pretty neat. He impressed the Mix 106 station with his leash walking skills and his ability to walk and roll at the same time? He spent most of his time on air, in the blue recycling container (perhaps he knew he was a second hand pet?). 

It has been a slow week at the Shelter and I was hoping Zeus would help to bring in some adopters. I know people were listening to the radio show because everywhere I went today it seemed people were talking about the ferret... and does he smell? Things did work out for Chico though, and for a bunny named Nana (who was a boy?).

I am looking forward to the Bling Fling tomorrow and had some great news from Jamie at the Mix. The Mix 106 have offered 9 children's DVDs (The 12 Dogs of Christmas)... and I will offer them to the first 9 children through the door... can't wait. 

Hope for a great day with lots of pet bling being moved... and maybe some pets too? :) 

Snow Day
So another bad weather day, and school was closed, no buses for the kids, and the roads were not plowed. I really didn't know what the day would hold. 

What do you do when the roads are so terrible ... uhg ... go to Durham. You betcha, cats needed to go, needed to go up for adoption, and it was very important. Honestly, I couldn't have made the trip, but Todd is a great driver. 

The appointment was made on a sunny day when it was I think 15 degrees outside. The money was there, the weather was great, and my last thought was to get them done before it snows. That will teach me to assume great weather sticks around. I was thrilled to see them go, knowing that adoptions will soon follow, and again these were cats who had been here a while.

By 3 pm we were up two more "stray" cats, plus four phone calls from people looking to surrender theirs. That put a damper my day. BUT, at 3:30 pm we had a great visit from our pal Levi remember that toy poodle?? 

He brought us a great Christmas card complete with pictures of himself lounging on the couch, the bed, with his family, in his coat, and all his clothes (loved the Halloween costume BTW).

Glad for that visit, really made the day a lot better. Great to see someone being loved! :)

Strathcona Students are the Greatest
What a great way to get things done! Thank you to the students of Mrs. Gardiner's class from Strathcona.

The students arrived just after 9 am and stayed until after 11 am. Everyone took turns ... walking dogs, feeding cats, helping with litter boxes (yup even that gross job), cleaning cages for dogs and cats, giving out special treats and fresh blankets.

The dogs had a game of fetch in the snow, and the cats were brushed and played with. Even the rabbit and guinea pig were given fresh bedding and special treats. That job normally takes me three hours and the students completed it in two. Way to go!

Extra little jobs were done too like the windows and cleaning the floor. AND, to make it all even better, the students brought with them homemade stockings for the pets. All the stockings were handmade from scratch and each stuffed full of goodies. If any pets get adopted before Christmas they get to take their stocking home with them. If they don't get adopted, the students made sure their Christmas with us would be pretty good despite being here.

There were no complaints from anyone, and all students worked to their best ability. The animals were treated with care and compassion. What a great group of kids!

What a surprise this morning to have to shovel out, dig out and defrost the windows. I was pleased to have left at our usual time and not have an emergency call. Nobody wants to rush on slippery roads. I suspected we were going to get snow dumped us on because it was December and also because of the number of cats that came in on the weekend. 

People with outdoor stray cats must have known the snow was coming. I think we are up six or seven... ugh. Glad to have them off the streets and out of the cold, but not thrilled to have them take up the space, or come in all at once. Many of these are not friendly and are semi feral or semi tame. This means they will be with us a while as we try to make them family pets - a big drag. 

On the plus side, the snow provided a new twist to a game of fetch in the dog play area, and I laughed as Trip had to find his ball before he could retrieve it (thanks Kelly he loved it) ... although his nose sure must have been cold. 

I managed to find a home for Beautiful today, freeing up some of our cat space... phew. Congrats Beautiful boy, who now will be a brother to Blackie... remember her (Pyros sort of sister). A great update too; helped to brighten my day. 

AND, on another happy note, I checked in on the croc situation, and all is well. I was worried about my crocodile traveling in bad weather ... he has, however, left the area and will spend his days where he should, with other crocs, in a croc sanctuary. See you later alligator. :)

Renee,
These are ALL terrible tragedies, leaving the loving owners with no alternative but to seek alternate housing for their beloved pets. Hopefully they will leave, knowing their loved ones are in the best of care and will find excellent loving homes. I, personally know the care and considerations Owen Sound Animal Shelter take in placing their charges in homes that are suited best for the animals needs.

Thanks Renee, and everyone at Owen Sound Animal Shelter, for being there in times of need....not only for the animals, but the people that love them!!
