After the dome shell was finished, two layers of insulation were installed on the outer surface, covered by a further nailbase layer of oriented strandboard. Tar paper was applied over the strandboard, and then shingling started. Robin Lutz is doing the shingling in this picture.
Here are Gord Austman and Keith Palmer working on another panel. Metal flashing has been laid down in the valleys between the dome and the canopies to protect them from water.
Shingling continued from the ground and canopy roofs. Here are Ken Locke and Robin Lutz, still hard at work. The way the shingles were cut to cover the triangles properly is clearly visible in this picture.
