We took you in, in honour of a friend, not sure what else to do. You needed to be given a chance, and that chance we gave you. You were a crazy young cat, who lived her days on the counters and on the kitchen table. Family members thought we were crazy for just letting you be. Although not a lap cat and seldom under foot, we loved you anyway and you were part of our family. Grateful, now, for the time we had, and wish it could have been longer. Returned now to be with your original owner, RIP dear Muffin, we will cherish you always. Renee, Todd, Aislyn and Kylan Robins

Rest in Peace

We Miss You And Love You ~ Liisa And Melanie Lawrence

"SADIE was able to get into peoples hearts quickly.  It made the person feel more attached to her. Now that she is gone it is hard for me to be calm and relaxed. Sadie I miss you and I will love you forever. No matter what ever happens now or in a couple years. The rest of the family will always be thinking about you too."

A tribute to Sadie-Jean - I adopted Sadie-Jean after my pup Sophie was hit by a car and killed. I first met Sadie as a dog walker. I started my volunteer dog walking duties shortly after Sophie's death, because I love dogs, but because I was feeling too raw after loosing my pup to consider another dog anytime soon. Sadie was 9 years old, and at been at the Shelter for months, as she had given birth to a large batch of puppies. All of the puppies were placed in homes, but Sadie remained Orphaned. When I first met her she touched my hear, but because of her age I hesitated. I could not imagine going through the loss of another dog, and Sadie's age made her too vulnerable in my eyes. I walked Sadie-Jean, as well as other lovely dogs, for a period of about three weeks. Gradually, Sadie overcame my reservations regarding her age, and she came home with me Aug 17, 2001. I loved her everyday, and she loved me even more every day, for almost seven years. A few months ago she started to deteriorate and on June 13th 2008, I asked Dr. Gomez to put an end to her suffering. He did so with compassion and a gentle hand. She was released to embark on her trip to the rainbow bridge. I mourn her more than I can say. She was  a gift to me, and if the Owen Sound Animal Shelter had not had in place their "no kill" philosophy I would have never experienced this gift. For all of you who are thinking about adoption, please seriously consider taking a mature dog into your home with you. You will never regret your decision. Sadie's love for me was powerful. I believe her difficult past caused her to appreciate the safe harbour of my home and she honored me with love and loyalty. A bond formed between us will never be broken. Rest in peace Sadie-Jean. I will see you again because I love you always. Catherine Healy

who was a beloved member of their family for 18 years.

Beloved best friend of Aislyn Robins,
gone too quickly from her life.

Will be forever missed.

On July 17, 1999 we were allowed to bring Maggie (ragdoll) to her forever home from the Shelter where she had been since that June. She was all of 5 lbs, and never got any bigger.

Sadly on Saturday she passed away in my arms. During the time she was with us she brought a lot of joy to anyone who met her with her white boots and her lynx colour and blue eyes.

She will be greatly missed in our house but will be remembered with fond memories.

Thanks for all you and the staff do, without you we would not have had this opportunity. Her ashes will be buried under the bird bath she loved to watch the birds at in the spring. Val & Jim Mitchell
