My husband and I adopted a dog from you about 4 years ago. He was a Rotti mix named Worry. We really didn't like the name so we changed it to Maxx. We all bonded instantly. He was the love of our life. Sadly Maxx developed stomach cancer after only 2 years with us. We tried everything possible but couldn't save him. It is still hard to talk about his death, but I had to write to you to let you know how much we loved him and we miss him still. Thank you for letting us adopt him that day. The 2 years we had with him were the best! I just read Rainbow Bridge - It makes the loss a little easier. The Messerhuber Family |

In the Fall of 1994 my family and I visited the Owen Sound
Animal Shelter to see if we could find a companion for my son who at the time was 9 years old.
There were several puppies available and he carefully picked out a very pretty little
Lab/Springer cross. This little puppy we named Jackie who became a huge part of our daily lives.
Last weekend we had to put her down after 13 1/2 years.
We loved her and she is sadly
missed. |

Since the day I was born there has always been a Dog in my life. When I had to put Niki, my son's first Dog to sleep, I said no more, it just hurt too much. Then Renee started to call and talk to me relentlessly about a Dog, whose family had lost there business, home etc., who needed a home. I said No, and kept saying No, but for those of you who know Renee, it didn't last long. I finally agreed to meet Kodi, and bring him home, but, if it didn't work, Renee and Todd would find Kodi another home. That was well over 10 years ago, Kodi became my constant companion. The first night, he slept on the bed, unheard of in our house. His deep brown eyes, his constant love and attention were a wonderful gift. He loved to romp across the road at the school, to run all over the Pines, and discover new trails, to explore, with my son's Dog, Sequoia (Boo Boo) to me. He learned to get on and off the boat, he didn't like to see water below him, but he was going were we were going. After I was rear ended, before Kodi's time, I started to suffer with Migraines. I would be down 2 to 3 days, but Kodi was right there at the side of my bed, waiting for me to get back on my feet, and we would be off again. He loved his Cookies and his T-Bones, and always got an extra one, here and there. My Kodi started to have problems last spring, and I tried everything to keep him with me, his spirit was so strong, but his body was tired. On June 21st, 2007, my wonderful, so special friend went over the Rainbow Bridge, to wait for me, with no more problems or pain. I loved him so much, and I have trouble sometimes, realizing he is gone, I hear his paws on the floor, and his bark at the door. At times I am sure he rests his head on my arm, just to let me know he is still watching over me. We will both be together again, both with bright eyes, and no pain, to enjoy eternity together, never to be apart again. With All My Love, Kodi. Mum ~ Brenda Fenton Woof |
