Hi Renee, I guess when you get dumped a couple of times, separation is sure to be an issue. I hope they give it more time than one night. It's gonna take longer than that I'm sure. Really need patience. I have had two dogs in my lifetime with the same concern and they eventually came around and I had them for 9 years. It took one dog a couple of months, but she got better and was a real sweetheart. But it is a commitment you have to want to make. If the commitment isn't there, it wont work anyway. :( Just to let you know, Smurf and Fuji get along really great now. You can feel free to use my experience for anyone you think it might help to tell. It took almost a full year of patience, but it worked. :) Our prayers are with Trixie. Chris R.

Have they tried earplugs? You can get foam earplugs that scrunch down and put in your ears and then they expand to fill up your ear. They really work great. Some places call them Decidems. They use them at Bruce Power. My son and I can't sleep through thunder storms, they wake us up and then we can't get back to sleep. These earplugs have solved the problem for us. They worked really well at the monster truck show at the JLC too. A crate with a blanket over it really muffles the sound too. We turned the door of the crate away from hard surfaces toward something soft so the sound gets absorbed instead of bouncing. Best of luck for Trixie! Thanks, Helen O.
