This is what the other place looks like! What do you think now? Renee R. Just one more person that needs to be educated on the wonderful work we do for these animals. Chin up, you guys are wonderful and you will forever be rewarded! Congrats to all the furkids that went to new homes! Allison S, ANML-RESQ volunteer I can't believe someone would say that about the shelter. I was so upset when I read that, so I can just imagine how you guys must have felt hearing that! But rest assured that most people know what a wonderful place you have turned the shelter into, and I know that many of us are very greatful that unloved and forgotten about animals have such wonderful, caring, and dedicated people looking after them. Jenny Hey guys, You have SO much to be proud of.. Don't let one stupid woman cloud your success.. Perhaps she would like to come and help at the shelter to make it a "better" place. Congratulations on all you do, look how far you have come.. And yes, it is your second home and thankfully for the all the animals you save and look after it is. I'll never forget the day I saw you bring back the little frozen cat to life.. Ask Cisco what he thinks of the shelter? Cathy, Volunteer JRTRO Please don't let that ladies comments get you all down. She obviously has NO CLUE what she is talking about!! I'd be happy to have her tag along and see some of the shelters we pull from. I can guarantee she would be speechless after the tour. The old adage "never judge a book by it's cover" holds true. A shelter is JUST THAT....temporary housing until these animals find their forever homes. In my opinion, it's what goes on behind the shelter doors that is most important. Owen Sound Animal shelter and ALL it's volunteers truly love the animals in their care and take great care to give them everything they need...whether it's medical attention or that "little extra help" with behavior issues to help them become more adoptable. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to the shelter, to see a dog that needs extra socialization or confidence building, sitting in the office with the girls. There are a lot of shelters where the dogs NEVER get out for a walk. They sit for weeks and weeks and never get to touch their feet on grass or smell fresh air. And when their stray time is up and no one has given them a second look, they kill them!!!!I, for one, am forever grateful for the Owen Sound Shelter and ALL of their caring people. I wish people would educate themselves before making hurtful comments. Keep up the GREAT work everyone!! Renee L. There's an old saying : Don't let the turkeys get you down. You guys are heroes! Christina M. You should NEVER have any negative feelings about what someone like that says to you regarding the shelter. That person is obviously negative in everything she does in her life, and its obvious she is not an animal lover or she would see what is done there. Chin up. People like that are not worth worrying about. Chris R. Kudos to you Renee for having the compassion to love all creatures great and small! Your heart must be very large indeed to enable to love so many, so much…all the time! I only have 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 step kids and one husband, and I feel spread a little thin sometimes. You are a credit to our species! Martha S. |
