WHAT KIND OF HUMAN BEING LETS PUPPIES FREEZE!!!!!!!!! You offered this person a safe place for all of them could she not have put an old blanket in a box and kept them warm till they were brought to you, honestly. You are a very strong person as I think I would have taken a strip off of her. The good thing is Scoop is safe and will be placed with someone who cares about her well being. Thank you for what you do. Becky.W.
Dear Renee and friends of OSAS, There are so many days that I’m saddened by the suffering of animals at the hands of humans. This latest sad bit of news makes me literally sick. On the coldest day of the year (so far) you’d think a person would take pity on a dog and her pups and find somewhere out of the cold for them, at least temporarily! I’m more frustrated that someone “of the gentler sex” couldn’t find it within herself to pity this mama (Scoops) and her wee babes. I personally have 3 cats and 3 dogs whom all reside in my home with my family. If Scoops and her pups showed up on my doorstep, I would have taken them in, kept them away from my “guys” until they were vet checked and then worked on finding them homes when the pups were weaned. It is not Scoops’ fault she was never sterilized. It is in an animal’s nature and instinct to follow their hormonal signals! Renee, I’m so glad there are rescuers out there like yourself and no kill shelters do exist. It gives me some hope that someday people will treat animals (and other humans) as they wish to be treated themselves. Martha S.
