Hi, Renee, Midnight is such a sweetheart! The other dogs have accepted him as if he's always been here -- the cats too. He still seems a little out of sorts, as is to be expected, as I couldn't get him to eat much dinner. I had to hand-feed him the kibble he did eat. Other than that, he has just been lazing around the house (probably tired out from the stress). Currently, he's curled up at my feet. He has such a sweet temperament. So trusting! He doesn't seem to have any obedience training, but I managed to coax him into a "sit". I'm sure he'll pick up some commands quite quickly just by watching the other dogs. He's definitely food motivated (hasn't refused any treats!), so that'll help too! We'll be taking him into the vet for a once-over as well as some more advice on the condition of his teeth. We think we'll also take him in for a good grooming. Obviously, his coat is in good condition -- mainly I just want him to have a good washing so he can have a new scent (he is a little smelly) to go with his new home, and I didn't want to be the one to traumatize him with a bath. I figure I'll wait until he's more comfortable here before I start bathing him myself (plus, I'm not sure I could lift him when he soaking wet). ;) Anyway, I was just so excited about how well he's fitting in that I wanted to e-mail you. I'll be glad to give you more updates as time passes. In the meantime, if you happen to discover anything about his medical/ immunization history, I'd love to hear. Otherwise, I'll go ahead and set it up with the vet. Thanks so much giving us the opportunity to share our home with him! Karen and James
