Lucy is another purchase from Songbird:Ottawa. I was originally looking for a project guitar body to try out some pick-ups. But there seems to be a shortage of hardtail ready, dual humbucker routed guitar bodies for sale. After checking E-Bay and some online musical instrument dealers, I gave up. Not long after I came across Lucy.
Lucy is transparent purple Ibanez RG470FM, Serial number C406580. Depending on the light she can look more like wine red. Her four bolt neck is the Wizard II, all maple with a very thin profile, and 24 frets. The body is very light, contoured basswood, with a flame maple top, bound with a single ply creme binding.
Her electronics currently consist of a single volume and tone control with three pick-ups and a five way switch. The stock pick-ups are Ibanez: INF1 Neck Humbucker, INFS1 single coil middle, and INF2 bridge Humbucker. The plan is to change the neck pick-up for a PAF Joe from Dimarzio. The bridge replacement will be a Gibson BurstBucker 2. I haven't decided what to do with the middle pick-up.
And then there is the trem. It is stamped "Floyd Rose Licensed" and has an Ibanez stamp:LO-TRS Trem II. But it is completely unlike the Floyd Rose Licensed Trem on my BC Rich. This critter is an alien cyborg of a gadget. Fortunately Ibanez has several PDF's on their website with BIG PICTURES for adjusting the beast.
