This bass is neck-through, two-tone natural wood colour. It has locking Ibanez tuners(chrome), two pick/ups (single-coil?). It has Active electronics, with a bypass switch. The other controls are: Master volume, passive/active blend, P/U select, plus treble, mid, bass tones controls.
It appears that this is the same bass the Sting played in 78/79 with the Police, only the photographs I have seen show his was fretless. I don't have any pictures of her right now, but this is one I found on the net.
The guy who sold me the bass said she was a 1978. But when I looked up the serial number turns out he was wrong. Ibanez Serial numbers pre 1987 work like this. The first letter is for the Month so A is January, B is Feb, C is March and so on. The next two numbers are the Year 76 is 1976, 78 would be 1978. The next 4 numbers are the production number that month. Catherine's serial number is D797086, so she was made in April 1979.
